A room outside, without the bugs.
A screened or covered porch turns a deck into a room you actually use. We frame the roof, run the screening or the walls, and finish it so it looks like it was always part of the house, not an add-on bolted to the back. As a screened porch builder we handle the structure, the roofline, and the details that make it comfortable.
Wade Lyon, owner: “What makes our work different is our attention to detail and the care we put into every project. We treat each customer’s home as if it were our own, taking the time to understand their vision and ensuring the finished project is something they can truly enjoy for years to come.”

Which kind of porch fits your house?
Bug-free, open to the breeze
A roof and screened walls keep insects out while letting air through. This is the classic choice.
Roof, no screens
A covered deck or porch gives shade and rain protection with fully open sides. It costs less than a fully screened space.
Made for sitting
Finished porches in our gallery include a metal roof, a stone fireplace, and a hanging daybed swing.
Structure first, then the room.
A porch roof carries more than a deck ever does, so the structure comes first. The posts, the beams, and the footings have to handle the roof, rain, and wind. Then the roof is tied into the house so water runs away from it, the screening goes in, and the floor and trim are finished.
Many porches are built onto a new or existing deck. If the deck is being built for a porch, we design it that way from the start. If it already exists, we check the framing and footings before adding a roof.
- Roof structure and roofline that match the house
- Screening set so it stays tight and looks clean
- Floor, stairs, and railing planned with the room
- Optional fireplace, ceiling fans, or a swing, planned early
What drives screened porch cost.
Size, roof type, whether it sits on an existing deck, the finish level, and extras such as a fireplace all change the price. Our guide to screened porch cost goes through each item so you can plan a realistic budget, and our pricing page shows how we quote.
We build porches for homeowners in Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Pelham and the rest of the Birmingham area. Pair a porch with custom railing for a finished look.
